Elise Gaston Chand is a former daily newspaper reporter and editor, radio news reporter, industrial video script writer, and on-camera talent. She’s a multi-published author of both nonfiction and fiction books (paperback, digital, and audio), and has written for multiple magazines and newspapers, including The Smithsonian Institute, The Washington Letter (reporting on Capitol Hill), The Galleria, The Winchester Star, Novascope, Andalusian magazine, and others.
Elise is also the daughter of a former NBC White House correspondent and ABC anchorman, and grew up on TV news sets in major US markets. She is exceedingly grateful to have studied Journalism at Washington and Lee University with Clark Mollenhoff, the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, author, and syndicated Washington columnist. (Professor Mollenhoff would be horrified by Elise’s dark-side utilization of Oxford commas.)
Currently, Elise produces and is the host of the weekly podcast Because of Horses, in which she shares informative and entertaining conversations with, for, and about horses, horse-people, and the $108 trillion international equine industry.
Through Because of Media LLC, Elise and her seasoned production team specializes in producing podcasts on behalf of our clients – from one-off support to turn-key production. Please check out our Production Services page for more details.
